A Message from the Principal

Hello and welcome to Spark Online Academy!

My name is Emily Ray, and I am delighted to serve as the Principal at Spark Online Academy. It is a joy to lead a new and exciting option in online and blended learning for students in the Pikes Peak region and across the state of Colorado. As an educator, my passion and focus are centered on the success of every individual learner we serve. 

Our unique model recognizes the importance of our student's sense of belonging to a learning community with connected and relevant experiences with peers and community partners. Our school is staffed by D11 teachers who are highly skilled in online learning environments. Our students and families choose Spark Online Academy because they benefit from the flexibility of online learning with rigorous instruction that is tailored to our student’s strengths, needs, and interests, with regular opportunities to apply their knowledge in authentic learning experiences.

We recognize that many students thrive in an online learning environment in which all learners have meaningful connections with classmates and teachers, support systems that unite high-quality instruction, and skilled staff with parent(s)/guardian(s) so each student can experience success. We are thrilled to provide what families have communicated with me again and again over the years in seeking a safe, inclusive, and joyful learning environment where students can fall in love with learning again and develop the relevant skills needed for college, career, and life.
